Dr. Rebecca Hu

Introducing Dr. Rebecca Hu!

Graduating Year:
I had the pleasure of attending veterinary school on the beautiful island of St. Kitts! I graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in December 2017.

Joined the Clinic in:
January 2018

Areas of interest:
Animal behavior/training, nutrition, rehabilitation, dentistry, neurology and surgery, to name a few!

My favourite thing about the Clinic:
Our clinic is like a well-oiled machine! There was a lot of anxiety coming in as a new graduate, but my fears were quickly extinguished thanks to this amazing team! And then there’s Buster and Tyson – a little snuggle time with these sweet boys gives me just what I need to keep going!

My first pet:
Starling, a Coconut Retriever from St. Kitts.

What I love most about my job:
Who doesn’t want to interact with animals all day?! From puppies and kittens to the sweet oldies. I love taking care of them all and feeling that sense of accomplishment when they get better. The smiles and gratitude I receive from pet parents is the cherry on top!

Fun fact about me:
I love being outdoors! Whether it’s hiking up a 3,792-foot volcano with my pack or hitting up a food festival, I’m the happiest when I’m outside!

Why does my dog’s breath smell?

Bad breath (halitosis) in a dog or cat is usually because of poor dental health.  Occasionally a dog or cat may have good teeth and still have bad breath in which case the diet is usually the cause. This is relatively rare, however, compared to the likelihood of a dental issue.
