Animal Care Assistant

Veterinary Student

I knew I wanted to join the veterinary field since I was very young, as my family always had plenty of pets! As a young child, I would always play “pet vet” and pretend to be a veterinarian for my stuffed animals. When it was time for university, I chose the University of Guelph since they have the only veterinary school in Ontario. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2021 and then got accepted to the Ontario Veterinary College Class of 2024.

Over the past two summers, I have worked at West Hill Animal Clinic as a veterinary assistant. During the school years, I do virtual nutrition consultations for West Hill. I love getting to interact with the patients at West Hill and apply what I have learned in school to real-life cases. The areas of veterinary medicine that interest me the most are nutrition, neurology, and shelter medicine.

A fun fact about me is that I have two cats and a dog, all of which are rescued. I have also fostered a bunny and 7 cats over the last year.
